I am a native Californian and have lived in Yucca Valley for almost twenty five years. My career as a teacher is now over! I have retired! I feel like I have been reborn. I have my degree in Art and over the years have worked with many different mediums. I have worked with everything from traditional oils and acrylics to Batik dyes, from weavings to sculptures. Now in addition to working with gourds and making one of a kind, handmade gourd jewelry, I have returned to my roots of painting. Each gourd piece is a unique blend of pyrography, (using of heat to draw, carve or scorch designs) dyes, acrylic paint and colored pencils. I then use the pieces to make the unique gourd jewelry.I now also use weathered wood to paint and then finish with colored pencils. I can't wait to see what the future brings as I weave my love of nature and the outdoors with my art in each signed "one of a kind" piece, be it gourd art, gourd jewelry or mixed media creations that I believe will withstand the test of time.

I am currently part of a wonderful art gallery up in Big Bear, California called Artisans' 2. Together with our sister gallery Artisan's Etc, we house about 80 different artists' work. If you are in the area stop by and check us out! Hope to see you soon!

Coming up on November 18-19, 2017 is the 9th Annual Yucca Valley Gourd Festival! Held at the community Center each year with gourd artists selling an amazing selection of fine gourd art, adult gourd art classes by Pamela Redhawk, Pizza from "Two Guys Pies", gourd competition with cash prizes and lots more! If you are a gourd artist or do other art or crafts and would like to join us please contact Wanda Statum at director@yuccavalley.org. It is a great show!

Thanks you for visiting my site. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 760-567-6640.

FYI If you see something you like and would like to see more pictures, I usually have quite a few of each piece. Just contact me and I will gladly send you more pictures of any of the work I have for sale. Make sure you include the Ref. # so I know what pictures to send. Thank you for your interest!
